Where Bizevex works...
Consider a accounts payable application running on an RS6000 that that takes in invoices from remote billing applications and responds to each with one a confirmation message.
One remote billing application might reside on a Windows NT machine running SQLServer; another might be a DB2 application on the AS/400; yet another could be an Oracle application on Unix.
Outfitted with the Bizevex adapter, this A/P application can talk to any billing applications similarly configured on nearly any other platform, an NT, an AS/400 or a Linux server.
The semantics among all these platforms are very different Through their Bizevex adapters, all of these applications “speak” XML. And each application's adapter need only be created once.
